In Combined Competitions (sometimes also called "Combined Training") both the dressage and showjumping phases are combined into one competition, but there is no cross country phase, and both phases will be completed in one day. The classes are divided and scored in the same way as eventing, with one eventual winner of each class. Rules

The format of Combined Competitions was designed by eventers who were desperate for additional competitions to improve on the 'flatwork" principles in between horse trials events. This competition style was developed to provide them with that opportunity but is open to all riders who do a "bit of both...or everything". It's a great way to do a little more than "just dressage" or "just showjumping " during a single outing, and extremely good value.

Classes are designed to suit eventers at

Starter (65cm jumps and 1.1 dressage test)

Introductory (80cm jumps and 1.3 dressage test),

Preliminary level (95cm jumps and 1.4 dressage test) and

Pre-novice (1.05 cm jumps and 2.2 dressage test).

Don't waste the chance to try something new and to practise putting the two phases together. Get in early, as there is a limit on competitors per class (NRC members get priority placement over non-members). Bring your friends - ALL WELCOME!!! If you can’t ride…come along to help and watch anyway.
