Showjumping every month
On the Second Sunday of every month from February to November, beginners to advanced riders flock to our Showjumping competitions on the Princess Anne Arena.
We run two rings, the first typically starts at 85cms, the second at 50cms. Our days provide an ideal training ground for show jumping novice horses and ponies. If this is your first visit, check out the protocol
Whether you and your horse can only trot over 50cms or have the experience to manage over 1.10m, come along and enjoy the fun. Enter on the day - classes are open to members and non-members - Classes commence at 9am.
Excellent equipment and varied competition
We have a wide variety of jumps, including a liverpool (water tray) and jumps sponsored by local businesses. Classes include AM3 (those riders who go clear then go into a jump off once everyone has jumped), AM7 (riders who go clear stay in the ring and jump off straight away), Power and Speed (if the first half of the course is jumped clear, the second half is against the clock) and Equitation Jumping (where rider and horse are judged on position and control).
We also have Clear Round Encouragement jumping at 50cms - if you go clear you get a ribbon.
Spectators welcome
Why not come along and watch for a while, the courses get bigger and more exciting as the day goes on. Spectating is free. Please keep dogs on a leash or preferably leave them at home or in the car. Remember, even the quietest horse can be unpredicable so make sure children don't run around and shriek. We have a mobile coffee van and there are some lovely walks, a childrens bicycle path and playgrounds at the St Ives Showground.
