Fifty-nine riders on 66 beautifully turned out horses and ponies enjoyed a perfect summer day at the Northside hack show on Sunday. There was something for everyone, from the high-class show hunter and open ring hacks through the breed classes where Australian Stock Horses and Shetlands and Thoroughbreds strutted their stuff. And as always the Funkhana Ring was just that – loads of fun, with the extra class of Best Christmas-decorated pony/horse, revealing how much creativity exists in our riding community.
We were especially happy to welcome Chloe Karsten to her first Northside hack show. Chloe competes on her Galloway Lavuka Mistaken Id with support from her mother who uses Auslan (Australian Sign Language) to convey the judge’s instructions to her.
