What riders can expect: Northside is delighted to offer members the opportunity to train with and learn from one of the most highly esteemed figures in Australian dressage - FEI Grand Prix winning competitor and trainer Rochelle King-Andrews and husband Greg Andrews.
From their base at KEA Rider Training in Ebenezer near Sydney, NSW, Rochelle and Greg have produced many horses from foals to big championship dressage placings throughout their successful careers.
Rochelle offers advice and techniques to riders to help them gain skills and tools for control and relaxation. Rochelle is best known for her ability to train any horse to be happy and willing to work, she loves being able to help horses enjoy their lives as athletes. One of Rochelle’s main focus areas is assisting horses to gain understanding and strength. Her coaching sessions aim to create harmony between horse and rider through her expert understanding of the challenges and knowledge of the best solution for each individual combination. Greg Andrews is excellent with difficult or quirky horses, nervous riders or combinations encountering any kind of resistance or behavioural issues (he is great when things aren't going wrong too!). He is an expert in biodynamics and can identify physical or equipment related issues with horses in a matter of seconds and offer assistance on how to correct the problem. Having seen Greg's brilliance hands on at the last clinic, we are also offering a non mounted session with him this time around. Themed around "Management of the Horse from Riding Club to Elite Performance" this is a 45 minute group session and will cover Greg's insights on feeding and exercise regimes to help keep your horse healthy and happy at varying levels of performance. Making good choices with hard feed and hay, what's the right amount to feed, how often should I ride, what duration and types of exercises can I do? How can I keep my horse at performance level with all this rain?! The session will include a Q&A so that any individual questions can be covered off.
